Search of the Unknown

That time,
I honestly thought I was searching for something
In that place
in which I was so sure of finding something
In a time
that was never meant to be,
set back a bit farther
then it is in reality.

My gaze, it falters
and my stride, it slows
as the doubt slowly starts to sink in
Questions are rapid
and answers, so few
Second choices are none,
but second guesses rise, anew.

My life, it seems shorter
the time, it feels longer
the decisions, they weigh heavier
and the choices, they fall lighter

Now it seems
as though I'll never find
that thing I was hoping to find
perhaps I'll go crazy
It's just me, myself and my mind

So what am I really trying to find?
Is it here?
Where?
Or am I imagining it?
All in my searh for the unknown...
