FireFox

This page is dedicated to helping spread the word about the open-source browser, Mozilla FireFox. You will be able to find links to download the program, download reccomended extensions, and download themes. You can download more extensions here if you're interested in finding some for yourself.

Although there are many other browsers aside from Internet Explorer (such as Flock, Camino, Opera, Netscape, SeaMonkey, and so on), FireFox is the one I use and would reccomend.

Get Firefox! One of the better browsers out there, in my opinion. Firefox is far safer then Internet Explorer, as it only allows safe codes to be viewed, and has a capability which allows you to set what you want to see. Firefox does not accept (or display) incorrect coding, so if it doesn't show up, it's probably coded incorrectly. You can still contract viruses and the like, as having a firewall and security program is a MUST. You can disable certain html and css components and enable others depending on the website. FF has a ton of awesome add ons you can get, and has tabbed browsing (which IE nabbed from FireFox). With the use of extensions, you can alter and change the settings of these tabs, whereas on IE, this is impossible.

If you are using a Mac, Camino is another option, but reccomendations regarding this browser will not be listed here.

Extensions

Adblock Plus Ever been annoyed by all those ads and banners on the internet that often take longer to download than everything else on the page? Install Adblock Plus now and get rid of them. Right click on an ad and block the URL it originates from to get rid of bothersome ads on websites you visit often.

Better Gmail A compilation of some of the best Greasemonkey scripts for gmail, including skins, saved searches, keyboard macros, secure access, attachment icons, attachment reminders, label colors, signature floating and more. This is an extremely handy extension, as it allows you to further customize gmail to how you would like it!

ColourZilla ColourZilla allows you to grab any colour on a website, whether that be text or images. It allows you to obtain that colour's hex code, red, green, and blue coordinates, and the hex colour code. A good tool if you're a graphic artist.

CookieSwap CookieSwap enables you to easily swap all your cookies so that you can be logged in to multiple web e-mail accounts (like Gmail and Yahoo! mail) at the same time and quickly switch between them.

Copy Plain Text A relatively simple extension that allows you to highlight text, rightclick it and select 'Copy as Plain Text.' It is extremely handy for highlighting bolded or italicized text, or text that appears in another font when you paste into a Document, for example. A very handy tool.

Del.icio.us Just download it. Seriously. It allows you to better organize your bookmarks, and to be accesable from anywhere on the internet, with an extension of your username after the product name (which is also their website URL ;D)

Duplicate Tab Duplicate Tab allows you to clone a tab along with its history. It's extremely handy in case you need more than one tab of the same website open, and I constantly use this extension.

Foxy Tunes A must have for anyone who browses the web while listening to music. It allows you to access your music from many different applications (Windows Media Player, Winamp, etc), and have one less window open, with your music displayed at the status bar on the bottom of your page. A very handy extension to have.

Html Validator Aka: God. This handy tool checks your html and css coding, and can correct most of the mistakes it notices. It's great to be sure your codes are working properly, and again, it's a great resource for anyone into web design.

Internet Explorer Tab This tool allows you to see what your coding and how websites look in Internet Explorer, without having to open up IE! This add on is amazing, and after installing, all you have to do is customize the way your browser looks (right click around where your back, forward, home, stop, refresh, etc buttons are, and click customize), and you can make it so the button is displayed at the top of your windows no matter what. It's an amazing tool, and is especially handy for anyone working in web design!

Long Titles An extension that prevents titles from being cut off when they reach a certain length, as most hover titles end in "..." and require for you to right click and view the properties to see all that was posted. Extremely handy for xkcd readers.

NoScript highly reccomended NoScript allows JavaScript, Java and other executable content to run only from trusted domains of your choice, and guards the "trust boundaries" against cross-site scripting attacks (XSS). This allows you to keep all sites blocked until you unblock them, whereupon it reloads the page upon allowing the website (though, this auto-refresh can be turned off). It helps protect your computer from harmful scripts, which makes FireFox one of the safest browsers to use.

PDF Download A useful tool for anyone; a window pops up whenever you're about to download a PDF file, in which it gives you the options to view as an html file, download it, open as PDF, or simply cancel. This is a pretty good thing to have so you don't accidentally download PDF files and bog down your computer.

StumbleUpon StumbleUpon lets you "channelsurf" the best-reviewed sites on the web. It is a collaborative surfing tool for finding and sharing great sites. This helps you find interesting webpages you wouldn't think to search for.

Tab Mix Plus An extension which allows to you further customize and edit your tab options. (Ie: duplicating tabs, controlling tab focus, tab clicking options, undo closed tabs and windows, etc). It's amazing, and I love this option a lot ♥

Themes

Firefox Longhornish InspiratSE A clean, modern, functional theme for firefox that makes browsing not only enjoyable with one of the best browsers out there, but appealing to the eye.

Stranger

Tammi. 16. Female. Canadian. Arabic. Dutch. Hungry. Roleplayer. Artist. Writer. Moody? Not really. Likes music in many languages, even in English! Tae Kwon Doe Karate kid. Likes the words 'radish' and 'mulch.' Does not find History boring at all. Rhinocerous Party all the way, baby. Still plays wajas. Dabbles in Canadian Politics. Knows that Rick Mercer is the shit. Wonders if a Rick Mercer/ Stephen Colbert fanfiction would be out of line (probably not).
